Here is yet another article linking chemicals found in plastic products, such as phthalates, and infertility. According to the study, “Decreased Serum Free Testosterone in Workers Exposed to High Levels of Di-n-butyl Phthalate (DBP) and Di-2-ethylhexyl Phthalate (DEHP): A Cross-Sectional Study in China,” exposure to phthalates in males may lead to lower testosterone levels. After increasing public concern regarding the potential for various chemicals to impair human fertility, the researchers of this study aimed to assess exposure to phthalates and its link to hormone balance in males. The researchers found that compared to the unexposed workers, the exposed workers had substantially and significantly elevated concentrations of certain phthalates.
