The Sun-Sentinel reports on the growing worry about the potential dangers of some hard plastic baby bottles and new technology that is allowing for safer baby bottles to hit the market. Bisphenol A (BPA) is the “building block” of hard, polycarbonate plastic, and is allegedly found in baby bottles produced by major manufacturers. BPA allegedly causes abnormalities in the mammary and prostate glands, as well as female eggs, of laboratory animals. One company, Born Free, has created a nylon-based baby bottle that is reportedly safer than traditional polycarbonate plastic baby bottles.
