World’s Largest Trash Dump “Filled with Plastic Debris”

According to the Houston Chronicle, the use of plastics, and particularly plastic water bottles, is producing negative consequences that have reported adverse effects on the planet, wildlife and even human health. The article reports that 90 percent of the Eastern Garbage Patch, the world’s largest trash dump located between Japan and North America, is filled with plastic debris, and the material can allegedly take hundreds of years or longer to degrade.
