Single-Serve Plastic Water Bottles Raise Concerns over Human Health

According to the Montrael Gazette, concern over single-serve plastic water bottles is continuing, with issues including waste, potential bacteria buildup, and concern and confusion about chemicals that leach from certain plastics when they heat up. The article reports that bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical widely used in some plastic products, is an environmental estrogen that has been “linked to an unexplained increase in such diseases as breast and prostate cancer.”
