Researcher believes the “public needs to be concerned” about BPA

According to ABC News, although bisphenol A (BPA) has allegedly “never been proven to cause health problems in humans in low doses,” the chemical, which is found in infant formula cans, is continuing to spark concern among research and advocacy groups. According to a professor of environmental medicine, “Those of us who do research on brain and behavioral development believe the public needs to be concerned.” The same researcher believes the FDA is “behind current science and relies on old criteria,” and thus the approaches currently used by the FDA are “not adequate to determine whether a real threat exists” from the chemical.
