Consumer Concerns Urge Retailers to Pull Plastics Products Containing BPA

The Eugene Register Guard reports Canadian retailers continue to pull some polycarbonate plastics products from store shelves in response in increasing concerns from customers about bisphneol A (BPA). BPA has allegedly come under great scrutiny in Canada as it is used in a plethora of polycarbonate plastics and is potentially dangerous to human health.Health Canada, the country’s national health agency, is reportedly conducting an assessment of BPA and intends to release a report on its safety next spring that could recommend that manufacturers phase out the use of the chemical.
