The “London Guardian” reports hot liquids “dramatically increase” the amount of harmful chemicals, including bisphenol A, which is an alleged hormone disrupter, from plastic bottles, according to a study conducted by the University of Cincinnati led by Scott Belcher. According to the article, this research should renew calls to develop alternative materials for baby milk bottles as “newborn babies are at a very sensitive stage of their development and the last thing you want to be doing is dosing them with a very potent hormone disruptor.”
