According to “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,” the National Toxicology Program came out with a report that there is some concern chemicals can leach from certain plastic products and cause adverse health effects such as breast and prostate cancer, as well as brain damage in fetuses and children.

The “Washington Post” repots Wal-Mart is planning to stop selling baby bottles made with the chemical bisphenol A (BPA), which according to a draft report from the U.S. National Toxicology Program could cause behavioral changes in infants and children and trigger the early onset of puberty in females.

According to the “New York Times,” the bottle maker Nalgene, the brand that popularized water bottles made from hard, clear plastic, will reportedly stop using the plastic because of growing concern over one of its ingredients, bisphenol A (BPA). Animal studies have reportedly linked BPA to changes in the hormonal system.

According to “Bloomberg News,” Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s Canadian unit, Hudson’s Bay Co., and other retailers have removed bottles and food-storage products containing the chemical bisphenol A (BPA), which is used in some reusable plastics food and beverage containers, after a news report said Canada may label the substance as dangerous.
