California Gets Closer to Banning BPA in Food and Beverage Containers

The “Beverly Hills California Chronicle” reports California is poised to become the first state in the U.S. to ban the toxic chemical bisphenol A (BPA) in food and beverage containers designed for children three years and under as the California Assembly´s Health Committee recently approved Senator Carole Migden´s “Toxin-free Toddlers and Babies Act,” (SB 1713). BPA has reportedly been linked to health problems and is found in plastic baby bottles, sippy cups, formula cans and baby food jars.
