San Francisco Urges Stores to Pull Baby Bottles with BPA off Shelves

According to the “San Francisco Chronicle,” San Francisco Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier wants stores in the city that sell baby bottles made with the chemical bisphenol A (BPA) to pull them from the shelves -and one grocery store already has agreed to do so. BPA may affect the brain, behavior and prostate glands of fetuses, infants and children. Safeway has reportedly already agreed to grant the city’s request. Whole Foods took BPA bottles off store shelves in 2006.
