According to “Bloomberg News,” scientists advising the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said the agency produced a flawed safety assessment of bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical that has been used for decades in baby bottles and food storage containers, failing to provide sufficient evidence that the chemical is not a risk to the public. The FDA previously issued a draft finding in August saying BPA is safe at levels currently used. The FDA reportedly relied too much on industry-funded research and allegedly “considered, but rejected for various reasons, a number of potentially relevant studies.”
