“Forbes” reports bisphenol A (BPA), a controversial chemical used to harden plastic packaging for many foods and beverages, could hurt the chances of successful in vitro fertilization, or the ability of embryos to attach to the uterus, according to presentations at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s annual meeting in San Francisco. Exposure to BPA also may cause a variety of other health problems, including cancer, diabetes, obesity and attention-deficit disorder.
