According to the “Associated Press,” pharmaceutical company Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. spent $840,000 on lobbying in the third quarter of 2008 (according to a recent disclosure form) including lobbying Congress on a bill that would ban the use of a plastic-hardening chemical called bisphenol A (BPA) in children’s food packaging, informing Congress that the materials used to line infant formula cans are safe.
