Health Canada Tests Drinking Water for BPA

Canada’s “Calgary Sun” reports Health Canada is testing drinking water at more than 60 treatment plants across the country for a host of chemical products, including some associated with cancer. The department reportedly wants more information about common drugs (such as ibuprofen) and plastic components (such as bisphenol A or BPA) that sometimes show up in the water supply. Health Canada will use the overall findings from the study to set approved concentrations of chemicals in drinking water.
