BPA and Phthalates May Be Predisposing Factor for Obesity

According to the “Montreal Gazette,” research suggests that exposure in the womb to environmental chemicals, such as bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates, chemicals used in the manufacture of some plastic packaging, may be a predisposing factor for obesity. Researchers have reportedly connected in utero exposure to BPA, phthalates and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) with weight gain in rodents.
