Minnesota Senate Gives Preliminary Approval to BPA Ban Bill

The “Associated Press” reports the Minnesota Senate has given preliminary approval to a bill by Sen. Sandy Rummel, DFL-White Bear Lake, that would ban the sale of baby bottles and sippy cups containing bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical some consider a health hazard. BPA is reportedly found in many plastics and in a coating used on canned food. The bill (SF0247) was approved on a 54-11 vote.
