Study Finds Drinking Cold Beverages out of Some Plastic Bottles Increases BPA Concentration in People’s Urine

According to the “Milwaukee Journal Sentinel,” research shows drinking cold beverages out of polycarbonate bottles significantly increases the concentration of bisphenol A (BPA) found in a the body. Researchers from Harvard University and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found a 70% increase in the amount of BPA detected in the urine of college students who drank from plastic bottles made with the chemical. The average levels of BPA found in urine jumped by 69% between the first and second week of the study.
