LA Residents Hold Toxic Baby Bottle Swap in Support of BPA Ban

According to the “Los Angeles Times” blog Greenspace, a group of doctors, activists and legislators held a “toxic baby bottle swap” in Los Angeles last week in support of Senator Fran Pavley’s SB 797, which would ban bisphenol A (BPA) in food and beverage containers targeted at children under three years old. BPA is found in hard plastic and has been linked in animal tests to cancer and hormone disruption. The blog reports glass bottles provide a popular alternative to plastic bottles that contain BPA.
