The “Milwaukee Journal Sentinel” reports companies that use bisphenol A (BPA) in food packaging are lobbying against a proposed statewide ban in Wisconsin of the controversial chemical. State Sen. Julie Lassa (D-Stevens Point) and state Rep. Kelda Helen Roys (D-Madison) introduced legislation in June that would ban BPA in children’s products. Similar measures have passed in Chicago, Illinois, and New York’s Long Island, as well as Minnesota and Connecticut.
