BPA in Urine Linked to Greater Risk of Heart Disease

“Reuters” reports British and U.S. researchers studied the effects of the chemical bisphenol A (BPA) using data from a U.S. government national nutrition survey in 2006 and found that high levels of it in urine samples were associated with heart disease. According to the research, 60-year-old American males with the highest amounts of BPA in their urine had about a 45 percent greater risk of cardiovascular disease than men the same age with lower exposures. BPA is used to stiffen some plastic bottles and line cans.
