Report from Obama’s Cancer Panel Raises New Alarms about Cancer and Chemicals

The “New York Times” reports President Obama’s Cancer Panel has released a landmark 200-page report warning that our lackadaisical approach to regulation may have far-reaching consequences for our health. It calls on America to rethink the way we confront cancer, including much more rigorous regulation of chemicals. The Panel also suggests precautionary steps, such as giving preference to organic food, checking radon levels in the home and microwaving food in glass containers rather than plastic. Legislation proposed in the Senate, backed by Dianne Feinstein of California, would ban bisphenol A (BPA), commonly found in plastics, from food and beverage containers.
