“The Daily Green” Reports on Least Green Types of Packaging

“The Daily Green” reports on the six least green types of packaging, which include: polystyrene foam, plastic bags, plastic bottles, plastic tableware, paperboard, and aluminum. Approximately 1,950,000 tons of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) food and beverage containers were deposited in landfills in the United States in 2008 and 1,160,000 tons of aluminum foil and cans were deposited in landfills in the United States in 2008. “The Daily Green” encourages consumers to recycle all materials and choose reusable packaging when possible.
